If you’re on the hunt for the best fries in Brandon FL, you’re not alone. Fries seem simple on the surface, but anyone who takes their sides seriously knows there’s a massive gap between a soggy, forgettable fry and one you cannot stop eating.
Everyone has their own idea of a perfect fry. Some want thin, shoestring-style with serious crunch. Others want a thick, steak-cut fry with a soft, fluffy center. Either way, it comes down to seasoning, freshness, and whether the fry tastes good before you even reach for the ketchup.
To find the best fries in Brandon FL, we tried fries from spots all around Brandon, Valrico, FishHawk, Lithia, and Riverview. After working through plenty of baskets, plates, and shared platters, three local spots earned a place on this list.
These picks are in no particular order. Comparing a classic golden fry to a loaded garlic cheese fry felt a little unfair, so we’re not ranking them against each other.
Where to Find the Best Fries in Brandon FL
Campbell’s Dairyland
Campbell’s Dairyland has been a fixture of the Brandon community for decades. What started as a Dairy Isle ice cream shop back in 1985 became Campbell’s Dairyland in 1993, and it’s remained a family-owned neighborhood staple ever since, even bouncing back from a fire that once forced it to close for months.
Today it’s the kind of old-school spot known for milkshakes, sundaes, burgers, chili dogs, and classic fried sides. When we asked around about the best fries in Brandon FL, this name kept coming up again and again. The fries here match that classic diner experience perfectly: a straightforward, golden order of hot, crispy fries with no over-the-top presentation needed.
⭐ BAB Pick: Dip a hot, salty fry straight into the soft serve. It sounds strange until you try it, and then you get it.
Campbell’s Dairyland is located at 200 S. Parsons Avenue in Brandon.
Route 60 Grill
Route 60 Grill opened in February 2023 inside Regency Square on West Brandon Boulevard, and it’s built a loyal following fast. This family-owned spot specializes in Certified Angus Beef burgers, gyros, Philly cheesesteaks, chicken tenders, and wings in a relaxed, casual setting perfect for a quick lunch or easy dinner.
The fries hit that ideal middle ground: a crisp exterior giving way to a soft, warm potato center, with just enough seasoning to bring out the flavor without going overboard. They’re good enough to eat plain, which is always the real test of a great fry and one of the reasons this spot lands on our list of the best fries in Brandon FL.
⭐ BAB Pick: Order the fries with one of the Angus beef burgers. It’s the combo Route 60 built its reputation on.
Route 60 Grill is located at 2490 W. Brandon Boulevard in Brandon.
Three Bulls Tavern & Brewery
Three Bulls Tavern & Brewery was built to be a neighborhood gathering place for Bloomingdale and Valrico. Owners Jim and Tracy Mellody opened it in 2019, focusing on scratch-made food and small-batch beer brewed on site. Jim’s family has deep roots in the local restaurant scene, having opened the first Beef O’Brady’s using homemade family recipes, and that same from-scratch philosophy carries through at Three Bulls.
We tried both the regular fries and the Garlic Cheese Fries, and honestly, order both. The regular fries are a dependable, crispy companion for a burger or sandwich, while the Garlic Cheese Fries turn into a rich, shareable appetizer once melted cheese and garlic get involved.
⭐ BAB Pick: Get the Garlic Cheese Fries. They’re worth ordering as an appetizer on their own.
Three Bulls Tavern & Brewery is located at 4330 Bell Shoals Road in Valrico.
Who Has Your Favorite Fries?
Whether you’re into an old-school basket, a crisp classic cut, or a plate loaded with garlic and cheese, these three spots each earned their place on this list. We didn’t get to every restaurant in Brandon, Valrico, FishHawk, Lithia, and Riverview, so if we missed your favorite, head to our social media and let us know.
A quick note before you go on your own fry hunt: keeping this list to three was tougher than we expected. We made our way through a lot of spots around Brandon, Valrico, FishHawk, Lithia, and Riverview, and there are still plenty we have not tried yet (or know about). If your go-to spot did not make the cut, that does not mean it was bad, there are just a lot of great options around here and only so much room on one “best” list. These picks come from our own taste tests plus feedback from the community.
